Well I was doing some runs on Halion 10 man and I have to say this is a not a walk in the park.

We got him to P3 multiple times and from what I see this fight is 99.9% about 100% of the raid paying attention to fight mechanics and less attention to massing buttons to top the DPS Meter.

Ok  P1 is not to hard

Abilities and what we were doing

1st Ability

Meteor Strike - Inflicts 18,750 to 21,250 Fire damage to enemies within 12 yards of the targeted area. Takes about 5 seconds to land. Shoots X-shaped lines of fire after it hits the ground.

This is Simple to handle it lands side step outta the fire.

2nd Ability

Fiery Combustion - Inflicts 4,000 Fire damage every 2 seconds for 30 seconds to a random raider. Every time Fiery Combustion does damage, it applies a stackable Mark of Combustion.

This must be dispelled however when it is dispelled Combustion procs

Combustion - Inflicts 2,625 to 3,375 Fire damage every second to targets that remain within the explosion area. Combustion has 6 yards radius. Also knocks nearby players back with Fiery Combustion.

What we were doing is just having whoever got this run to the back near the wall of fire and had it dispelled. What players should be doing is instead of paying 100% attention to there DPS rotation, they should be looking at were ranged and healers are standing and picking there spot where they will run to if they get Fiery Combustion.

Phase 2 will begin at 75% A portal opens to the Twilight Realm, where the entire raid except for the main tank and their healer should join him

He will apply Soul Consumptionn wich is similar to Fiery Combustion

Soul Consumption - Inflicts 4,000 Shadow damage every 2 seconds for 30 seconds to a random raider. Every time Soul Consumption does damage, it applies a stackable Mark of Consumption.

This has to be dispelled when it does Consumption procs

Consumption - Inflicts 2,625 to 3,375 Shadow damage every second to targets that remain within the explosion area. Combustion has 6 yards radius. Also pulls nearby players to its center with Soul Consumption.

2 Ideas on how to handle this one is same way as Fiery Combustion player runs to the back near the wall has it dispelled in away from the raid.

2nd Idea is dipeled it right away as if there is a small amount of stacks on the player the consumption zone will be very small so player can just step outta it and avoid it.

Next ability is Shadow Pulsars

Shadow Pulsars - Summons two Shadow Pulsars at the two ends of one the fighting area's diameters. The Pulsars slowly circle the area, beaming a Twilight Cutter for 10 seconds, then resting for 20 seconds, then beaming another Cutter.

    Twilight Cutter - Inflicts 13,875 to 16,125 Shadow damage every second to players touched by the shadow beam.

When these appear the tank and Raid will have to start moving in a circle to avoid them if the beam hits players we wipe.

So for melee DPS the trick is to glue ourseleves to the front foot and move with it. Now here is the real trick to it. Move to slow and the beam kills you move to fast and you will get Cleaved or breadth from the dragon and probably die. Fall asleep at the wheel here and we wipe.

Enter P3

At 50% Halion will enter his third and last phase, the split phase. He will open two portals to the physical realm, which half of the raid should use to return to the MT and his or her healer. From this point on, your goal is to equalize the DPS in the two realms - the portals will remain open in case you need to make adjustments. Halion's corporeality will go up and down based on how much damage you do to him. If the DPS in the physical realm is higher, the boss' corporeality will decrease as he seeks sanctuary in the Twilight realm, and vice versa. In other words:

    *
      Corporeality < 50% - Halion does and takes more damage in the Twilight Realm. He does and takes less damage in the physical one.
    *
      Corporeality = 50% - Halion does and takes normal damage in both realms.
    *
      Corporeality > 50% - Halion does and take more damage in the Physical Realm. He does and takes less damage in the twilight one.

You should try to keep Halion's corporeality between 40% and 60%.


Key here is not a DPS race but DPS control if one Reality gets to far ahead the tank will get one shotted so key is balance in DPS and good comunication. Alot of people recomended having Melee stay in the twilight as it is easier for them to move with the beams and have range go into the real world so they can DPS with out having to move much.

All and All this fight is about getting used to mechanics and have the whole 100% of the raid working in unison.

This based of my own experience, information found on Wowhead and tip from differn't videos and raiders.

Well turns out that Halion does have an enrage timer I think he enrages at 8 minutes in. Though it does not matter unless most DPS die. Last night he almost got dropped with 2 DPS alive.

Anyone down Halion yet?  furthest I've gotten is about 1/2 thru phase 3 and I was tanking all those times.
